Each thesis will be assigned a reviewer or sometimes called opponent. The reviewer must have at least a Masters degree and relevant knowledge or experience in the field of the thesis topic, and they must not have a conflict of interest (such as being members in the same research group).

The department offers thesis and non-thesis Master of Science programs. The thesis option requires a minimum of 24 hours of graduate coursework plus 6 hours of thesis and 6 hours of research followed by successful defense of the thesis and final examination.
